Head Coach Chad Mustard
COACHING:
Coach Mustard is entering his 4th season at the helm at Bellevue East. His focus has been on building a strong foundation of fundamentals while challenging his players with high expectations on the court, in the classroom, and in the halls of Bellevue East High School. Last season, the Chieftains had their most successful season in 6 years. The Chieftains went 8-15, which might not sound like much, but those 8 wins eclipsed the previous 4 years combined. The program is turning the corner. The foundation has been laid, now Coach Mustard is working on building depth on all levels of his program.
Prior to coming to East, Coach Mustard served as a Varsity Assistant/JV Coach for five seasons at Bellevue West (2) and Millard West (3). His experiences left him well prepared to lead Chieftain Nation's Hoops program.
BEFORE THE SIDELINE:
Chad played 6 seasons, nearly 50 games, as a Tight End in the NFL with both the Denver Broncos and the Cleveland Browns. He also had 741 career rebounds and was voted two-time All-North Central Conference as well as a Third Team NABC All-American as a senior. At the conclusion of his hoops career Coach Mustard joined the UND Fighting Sioux football team and was fortunate to be part of the group that won the 2001 Division II National Championship and was inducted to the UND Hall of Fame.
